![]() September 27, 2005 NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC KIDS’ PROGRAMMING AND PRODUCTION TEAMS WITH NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC KIDS’ PROGRAMMING AND PRODUCTION TEAMS WITH CELLAR DOOR PRODUCTIONS AND SINKING SHIP PRODUCTIONS FOR ‘ARE WE THERE YET?’ Pilot for Kids’ Global Adventure to Debut at MIPCOM TORONTO (Sept. 27, 2005)—Canadian television production companies Cellar Door Productions Inc. and Sinking Ship Productions Inc. have teamed with National Geographic Television & Film’s (NGT&F) Kids’ Programming and Production group to launch their newest premiere series, “ARE WE THERE YET?,” the first ever unscripted global travel-adventure series for kids, hosted by kids. “ARE WE THERE YET?,” aimed at kids ages 4-7, takes viewers on a worldwide field trip through the eyes — and crayon-drawn travel logs — of show hosts 7-year-old Molly and her 5-year-old brother Sam. They crisscross the globe exploring exotic and exciting destinations from the Galápagos to the Sphinx. Always up for adventure, the siblings are off in a flash, riding elephants in India and camels in the Sahara, swimming with dolphins in Mexico, dog-sledding in the Canadian outback or cooking native cuisine with local chefs. As part of their travels, Molly and Sam always meet up with local children and get a firsthand look at how they live, the foods they eat and the games they play. At MIPCOM, Cellar Door, Sinking Ship and NGT&F will unveil the series pilot, which was shot on location in Mexico and features Molly and Sam feeding manatees, swinging at a piñata with their Mexican friends Niki and Utza, and climbing ancient Maya ruins at Chichen Itza. “There is a natural wonder that kids bring to how they see the world. ‘ARE WE THERE YET?’ brings that world to our audience in a way that is relevant and understandable. Through the eyes of Molly and Sam, the brother and sister team and our viewers learn to understand that we are just one world,” said Gretha Rose, executive producer/president of Cellar Door Productions Inc. “The unscripted format of ‘ARE WE THERE YET?’ provides a unique and fresh voice as the kids speak for themselves. This gives viewers at home the feeling that they are really there with Molly and Sam as events unfold,” said J.J. Johnson, creator/director of Sinking Ship Productions Inc. (OVER) ARE WE THERE YET? (PAGE 2) “‘ARE WE THERE YET?’ brilliantly reflects our mission and gives audiences an authentic view of the world as seen by our two young, and very real, host kids Molly and Sam. There’s never been a series like this before that puts kids at the center of a global adventure series,” said Donna Friedman Meir, president, Kids’ Programming & Production, for NGT&F. “We are delighted to join in the production of ‘ARE WE THERE YET?’ with Cellar Door and Sinking Ship and look forward to unveiling this exciting unscripted series to the global marketplace.” About Sinking Ship Productions Toronto-based Sinking Ship Productions Inc. is coming off the heels of its first series, the award-winning “This is Daniel Cook” currently airing on Playhouse Disney, TreehouseTV and TVO.
