![]() October 28, 2004 Cellar Door Productions’ Nominated for four (4) Gemini Awards Cellar Door Productions is pleased to announce that four of its highly successful productions have been nominated for Gemini Awards this year. “It is virtually unheard of, that a company receives four (4) separate nominations for four (4) different properties”, says Gretha Rose, President of Cellar Door Productions. “It is a testament to the power of great creative material coupled with great creative people”. DOODLEZ has been nominated for Best Animated Program or Series. DOODLEZ is produced by Cellar Door Productions, directed by D. Campbell MacKinlay, and animated by Trapeze Animation Studio Ltd. Doodlez has recently been picked up by US Broadcaster, Nickelodeon, and continues to show strongly around the world. CHEF AT LARGE director, Edward Mowbray, received a nomination for Best Direction in a Lifestyle/Practical Information Program or Series. CHEF AT LARGE, a co-production between PEI’s Cellar Door Productions and Nova Scotia’s Ocean Entertainment, is entering its fourth season on Food Network Canada, and airs on BBC South Africa, Living Channel New Zealand, and BBC Scandinavia. ISLAND VETS director, Donna Leon, received a nomination for Best Direction in a Lifestyle/Practical Information Program or Series. ISLAND VETS, a co-production with PEI’s Cellar Door Productions and Ontario’s Genuine Pictures, airs on CanWest Global and will begin airing on the Living Channel in New Zealand in 2005. MRS. ASHBORO’S CAT acquired three nominations. Don McBrearty, Best Direction in a Children’s or Youth Program or Series; Tom Barnett, Best Performance in a Children’s or Youth Program or Series; and Ellen Page, Best Performance in a Children’s or Youth Program or Series. MRS. ASHBORO’S CAT, a co-production with PEI’s Cellar Door Productions and Ontario’s Shaftesbury Films Inc., was shot on location in PEI in March of 2003. The Gemini Awards are December 11, 12, 13 in Toronto. Cellar Door Productions is a creative and diverse film and television company, specializing in developing, financing and (co) producing, animated and live-action productions with National and International partners.
