Childhood Lost: The Story of Canada's Home Children
The children were part of a scheme designed to relieve Britain’s overcrowded cities. They were placed on remote farms where they worked long hours for little or no pay. “Home children” suffered the loss of family, identity and childhood.

Today home children and their descendants make up 12 per cent of Canada’s population, with one in 10 Canadians being a descendant of a Home Child. Childhood Lost tells the story of six home children, and their descendents, as they attempt to unravel the mystery of their past.

Childhood Lost is a co-production of Cellar Door Productions of Charlottetown, PEI and Ocean Entertainment of Halifax, NS. It was written and directed by Donna Davies. Produced with the financial participation of Global Television Network, Technology PEI, Canadian Television Fund, CIFVF, Prince Edward Island Film and Television Labour Rebate, Nova Scotia Tax Credit, and CAVCO.

Childhood Lost airs on the Global Television Network on Saturday, August 30th at 7 PM AST/EST.
